Fr. Maxime Villeneuve, OSA has been a member of the Campus Ministry team at Saints since 2018.
As Chaplain, Fr. Max coordinates all school liturgies, including weekly Mass, special Masses, Penance Services, and Para-Liturgies for special events. He also makes the Sacrament of Reconciliation available to students in the chapel twice a week. He is available as a spiritual guide for all students, faculty and staff, and he presides at the weekly Mass for the St. Monica Prayer Group – a group of Saints parents-on Thursday mornings. This year Fr. Max is teaching one block of Old Testament and New Testament to Sophomores. He also spends a week in the classroom in both Fall and Spring semesters teaching freshmen students about the life of St. Augustine, and the Life & History of the Order of St. Augustine. He contributes a column to the student newspaper The Augustinian, and to the school’s e-magazine Saints Scene.
Fr. Max collaborates with the Campus Ministry team in supporting our retreat and service programs, service immersions, and spiritual pilgrimages. He works closely with the Hogar Infantil Club, accompanying the group on monthly visits to the orphanage, which include Mass. He also collaborates with the Foreign Language Department in coordinating Saints’ student exchange program with our schools in Penonome, Panama and Lima, Peru.
Fr. Max has a passion for baseball, reading and travel. He completed his BA in Religious Studies at SDSU, and earned his Masters in Divinity from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
Fr. Max would like to extend an invitation to all members of the Saints community to stop by his office and say hello…and to remind everyone that his door is always open should you need someone to talk with.
