This past year, our Saintsmen won the Western League for the third year in a row and went on to capture their second Southern California Regional State Championship. In 2017, the Saintsmen won the Open Division title, placing us as the number one team in the county. Our team has captured 16 league titles (1982, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1996, 2003, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020) and have reached the CIF title game eleven times (1991, 1992, 1996, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2017). The Saintsmen have captured seven CIF Championships (1996, 2001, 2003 2006, 2012, 2015, and 2017). In 2006, the Saints soccer team was named the “Team of the Year” by the San Diego Hall of Champions. In 2012, the team not only won the CIF championship, but also went on to capture its first Southern California Regional State Championship. Coach Johnston has been named San Diego Coach of the Year three times by the Hall of Champions (2006, 2012, and 2017). In 2012, he was also honored as both the State and Regional Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The Saints soccer program has a Freshmen, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Soccer team. The Junior Varsity and Varsity teams compete in the Western League of the City Conference and are in Division I for the CIF Playoffs.
All teams compete at the highest level of competition. We have high expectations for all of our student athletes. All soccer players are expected to model the school values of TRUTH, LOVE, and COMMUNITY. Playing soccer at Saints is an opportunity to live and experience these values and create memories that will last a life time.
