Welcome to Saints Athletics. We offer a full spectrum of championship quality sports teams. Our 103-year tradition has included many of the greatest athletes, coaches, and fans in San Diego County history, as well as some of the most exciting games in county history.
Since Saints’ inclusion into CIF and the San Diego City Conference in the 1960s, Saintsmen have won 184 league titles, 47 CIF championships, and 4 state titles (golf, soccer twice, and basketball). Saints is also proud to have an Olympian in Brian Barden, who was a member of USA Baseball in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Over 70% of our student body participates in at least one of the 15 sports Saints offers (12 CIF sports and 3 club sports). In the fall season, we offer football and cross-country, as well as club beach volleyball. During the winter season, we offer basketball, wrestling, and soccer (8 consecutive league titles and four-straight appearances in the CIF Open Div. championship game, winning three of them), as well as rugby and surfing at the club level. Rounding out our year, we have baseball, golf, tennis (defending DII CIF Champions), volleyball, swimming, lacrosse, and track in the spring.
Most of our sports offer varsity and junior varsity levels, and we have freshman levels for football, basketball, soccer, and baseball.
Our student-athletes are guided by some of the best coaches in the county who support Saints’ mission to develop the body, mind, spirit, and soul as our young men compete and grow while competing at the highest levels. Saints has had three California State Head Coaches of the Year in Brendan Johnston (soccer 2012), Mike Haupt (basketball 2013), Craig da Luz (baseball 2014) and one assistant coach of the year in Mitch Bluman (baseball 2019).
