Description:

Greetings from Saints Football!

I hope your family is safe and adjusting to this new reality we all are experiencing.  Our transition to Online Learning these past ten weeks was a huge success for our students.  My colleagues and I learned this method of teaching virtually over a weekend and were able to continue our young men’s education almost seamlessly.  As has been seen for years on the field of play for any Saints team, the teachers rose to the occasion and delivered an excellent education in an extremely difficult situation during the last quarter of the year.

This new reality has also had an impact on the football team.  With gyms shut-down, training for the 2020 football season had to be conducted remotely.  Coach Sweat and our coaching staff were able to help our student-athletes gain speed, stamina, and strength, and we are confident we will be ready for the 2020 campaign.  I believe the C.I.F. will find a way for high schools to have a football season, although it might take a different shape in how we practice and work together as a team.

This year has created a certain set of financial circumstances we have never seen before. Our ability to raise funds has been greatly compromised.  We may not be able to sell ads for the football program and our football camps this summer have been canceled due to social distancing concerns.  This represents a $50,000 shortfall in income that goes directly into creating a football experience for our players.

When you look back on your son’s Saints football experience, I am sure you will see the impact football had on your son’s overall Saints Experience.  Being the largest athletic program on campus, it is also the most expensive to operate.  With the reconditioning of helmets, replacement gear, technology, coaching stipends, team meals, spirit packs for some of the athletes, coaching gear for our staff, and any extras provided by the program were funded through a combination of our operating budget and this extra funding.

It is imperative we do not compromise this experience and keep the traditions alive for future players.  As the Head Football Coach, I realize that you might have other important charitable considerations given the pandemic, but I hope you will consider the Saints football program as important and worthy of your support.

This is a passionate game and as you know, I am a passionate coach.  To continue the tradition, we need your help. If you are able, please contribute what you can.  No gift is too small.  Maybe you can contribute $20 or $10,000; it all adds up!  With God’s grace, we, together, will raise $50,000 for this season, which will allow Saints to give these young men the full experience they deserve.  Please consider helping the program remain strong by helping our football staff impact these boy’s lives.  Please click the Donate button below to make a difference.

Thank you for considering supporting this great part of Saints life.  I know your family has great memories of your son’s football experience.  God bless your family during these difficult times.  None of us survives and thrives alone — our success comes through working together in Community, Truth and Love.

We send our love, Go Saints!
