St. Augustine High School is owned and operated by the Order of St. Augustine in the Province of St. Augustine, in California. Five members of the Order of St. Augustine serve as Members of the Corporation.
Shadow Days may be scheduled for dates in November.
To provide as much flexibility as possible St. Augustine High School does not designate official shadow dates. If your son is interested in shadowing a current Saints student please contact our Admissions Assistant, Zorinna Aceron zaceron@sahs.org and submit a few dates that may work for your family. You will be contacted shortly thereafter to confirm a date that works for everyone.
Some basic info:
What should I wear?
We always suggest shoes, shorts, and a polo unless you plan on visiting us on a Wednesday. If you are joining us on a Wednesday, we ask that you dress up a little because it is our Mass day. Wednesday shadows should wear shoes, pants, and either a polo shirt or a shirt and a tie. (Slides, flip flops, sandals, or opened toed shoes are not acceptable)
What will the day be like?
When you check in at the main office (Nutmeg Street entrance) we will pair you with a current student and you will spend the day following that student along his schedule.
How long will the day last?
Mondays start at 7:45. Wednesdays and Thursdays our days start at 7:45 and end at 2:00. Tuesday through Friday shadow days start at 8:30, but you may make arrangements to be dropped off as early as 7:45. Our days end at 2:00 unless you wish to leave earlier. If you wish to leave earlier, please specify your desired pick up time and we will make accommodations for you. Unless noted, our daily schedule is below.
Where do I pick my son up at the end of the day?
We recommend that you meet your son in the main office, where you dropped him off in the morning.
What should my son bring?
A positive and respectful attitude along with an understanding that they are attending a real school day. We always recommend bringing a book to read in case your shadow is taking a quiz or test. Additionally, a snack, lunch or lunch money, and refillable bottles for water are always a good idea.
