St. Augustine High School offers class level retreats. The 9th, 10th and 11th grade retreats center around the core Augustinian values: Community, Truth and Love. Freshman are required to attend the Freshman Overnight Retreat which focuses on embracing the SAINTS community through interaction with fellow 9th graders, upperclassmen leaders, faculty and staff members, and reaching out to the various surrounding communities.
Sophomores and Juniors are also required to attend day-long retreats which are designed to guide and encourage the students as they continue to grow on their spiritual journey. The Sophomore retreat centers around Truth, one of the Augustinian core values. This retreat allows the 10th graders to reflect and evaluate their experiences at SAINTS while incorporating social justice issues that face our world today.
Juniors attend a retreat which will revolve around the Augustinian core value of Love. Juniors will be invited to learn more about the world in which they live, the relationships they cherish and the peers with whom they have shared their SAINTS experience.
The KAIROS retreat, a 4-day, 3-night retreat for Seniors, is an intense spiritual experience of self, others and the community. This retreat is student led, and each Senior will have the opportunity to attend a KAIROS retreat before graduating. Juniors are invited to attend a KAIROS retreat each spring.
Permission slips, information and pictures of the various retreats can be found on the school website.
KAIROS has been a tradition at Saints for more than a decade. KAIROS not only impacts the lives of the upperclassmen, but has a profound impact on the entire school community, from freshmen to faculty. It is an exciting, in depth, and 4 day retreat experience at just the right time in the young Saintsman’s life. The only thing that can be described about KAIROS, is that one must experience it themselves. Judging by the residual enthusiasm following the retreat, it is worth taking on.

Over the years, the freshman retreat has been an opportunity for freshmen to build community with one another, as well as to feel included in our own spiritual community here at Saints. They will engage in activities with Senior and Junior Big Brothers, various Saints Faculty members and Families, in prayer, games, meals and service.
All parents should have received detailed information and permission slips in their packets. Students should be able to access any other forms. The Sophomore Retreat will focus on our Augustinian core value, Caritas or Love. The class will have the opportunity to learn and share with their classmates during this retreat. They will also engage with each other and the upperclassmen facilitators in activities and discussions revolving around love and service to Self, Community and God.
Sophomores meet off campus for the Day of Reflection with their whole class. They will engage with the idea of purpose, mission, and identity. Carrying on from the Freshman Retreat, when students are brought into the Saints’ Community, the Sophomores will begin to better understand their position as Saintsmen, indeed as young Catholic men, together as a class
The Junior Class participates on a Pilgrimage for their retreat. Pilgrimages are a tradition in the Catholic faith. They are an opportunity to step back from the day to day grind and to be present with God and those who you are walking with. Students will journey 9.5 miles with their classmates and faculty members as they visit local parishes and reflect on how the different Augustinian Values can be applied in their daily lives.
