New this year all Christian Service Hours must be turned in on official agency letterhead
Seniors are required to complete 25 hours of their Christian Service keeping the theme of “Christian Service: Saints and Beyond.” The students are encouraged to pick a challenging setting in which to perform their Christian Service. All senior sites must be PRE-APPROVED by the Director of Campus Ministry. Some examples of appropriate agencies include the Salvation Army, Interfaith Shelter Network, The Red Cross, Therapeutic Recreation Services of San Diego, Orphanages, St. Vincent de Paul Homeless Shelter and The Special Olympics.
Each student is invited and encouraged to complete all or a part of their service work during the summer. The students must obtain the Campus Ministry approval and any necessary time sheets and forms before they begin their work. In addition to the Service Opportunities which can be found in the Campus Ministry office, there will also be monthly trips to the Augustinian sponsored orphanage in La Gloria, Mexico and to St. Vincent de Paul to serve food to the homeless.
