Nott's
Forest FC standout Zach DeVille took home
the coveted Cal South Boys Player of the Year
award recently. The St. Augustine HS freshman received
the honor at Cal South's 2008 Nike Awards Banquet
in Los Angeles. DeVille captains the Nott's Forest BU-15 Premier
team under coach David Banks, who believes DeVille's
dedication, discipline, leadership and manners make him a coach's
dream. DeVille has played for Nott's Forest since he began playing
competitive soccer in 2000.
DeVille also played for the Cal South '93 ODP team
and the U.S. U-14 National Team. Last Thanksgiving,
he traveled to Orlando with his ODP team for the Inter-Regional
Showcase. He has jumped up a level to train with the '92 ODP
team that will compete later this month in the Region IV ODP
Championship in Phoenix. DeVille is a starting forward for
the St. Augustine varsity. He is the first freshman in seven years
to make Varsity. Coach Brendan Johnston enjoys
DeVille's play because of this flexibility and speed.
