Rugby came to Saints during the winter of 2008 as students joined a local club known as the Young Aztecs. Then, rugby became an intercession class during the month of January. This group of twenty-five students learned the history and rules of the sport. The class ended with the students playing the Young Aztecs in a full contact 40 minute game on the Saints football field. This was a huge success. The students and faculty got to experience the sport of rugby first-hand. Now, rugby has become a winter club at Saints. Our goals are to get rugby to become a CIF sport and for the students who participate in the sport to get the opportunity to play in college. Sean Quintong and Sean Nowland (Saintsmen from the class of 2009) are currently playing rugby at San Diego State. Saints Rugby players are expected to demonstrate the values of Community, Truth, and Love both on and off the field.
