ATTENTION SENIORS WHO ARE IN THE SOCIETY OF SAINTS SCHOLARS AND THE NEW SOCIETY OF SAINTS SCHOLARS FROM THE JUNIOR CLASS. Our first gathering is TOMORROW, Thursday beginning at 7:35 a.m. in the library. We will begin with a continental breakfast followed by the seminar with our guest speaker. All of this takes place during homeroom so you will not be missing any of your regular classes. For the new juniors, see your English teacher to see whether or not you have been accorded membership, and if so, see Mr. Cudal today for the finer details about the Society of Saints Scholars.
THERE WILL BE AN ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING FOR ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN JOINING SAINTS’ QUIZ BOWL AND ACADEMIC LEAGUE TEAMS IN ROOM 210 DURING LUNCH TODAY, WEDNESDAY. Bring your lunch with you and plan on spending the better part of the break. We will collect contact information to formulate a roster and provide details on Quiz Bowl tournaments (the first is less than a month away!) and Academic League competition. We will also have a brief practice to introduce you to the question format. See Mr. Weber or Joey Tanaka for further details.

SAINTS INTRAMURAL SPORTSCENTER NEWS: INTRAMURAL FLAG FOOTBALL WILL BEGIN PLAY NEXT WEEK. Because we haven’t had homeroom for the past two weeks, the commissioner’s office has extended the deadline for roster submission. Please get your rosters and fees finalized, approved by your homeroom teacher, and submitted to Mr. Linville ASAP. Also, we are still in need of more referees for the football season. If you are interested in refereeing this season, please sign-up with Mr. Linville. Saints’ Intramural flag football will be faaaaaaaaaaaantastic …. Once everyone turns in their rosters. Do it now.

REMINDER SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, AND SENIORS. The junior class officers hope that you are all beginning to make plans for this year’s Mystery Homecoming Dance to be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Here is what we can tell you about this upcoming once in a lifetime dance. First, it is going to be on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Second, it is a semi-formal dance; third, it is the last homecoming dance that will be held off campus as all future homecoming dances will take place in our new gymnasium. What is also significant about the Mystery Homecoming Dance is that the venue for it will not be known until the day before it is to take place. Now if that does not add and pose some excitement to this dance, then you probably aren’t going to the dance in the first place. Think of all of the fun that you and your friends can expect to have at the Mystery Homecoming Dance. We can promise you this – the place where it will be held will be very outstanding and you will be sorry if you are not there with all of the other Mystery Participants. Don’t bother asking any of your class officers where the dance is going to be, because they each have been sworn to secrecy. Plus no amount of money will convince any of them to reveal this information to you. The only thing we can tell you is to plan on attending, and once bids go on sale, you must purchase them quickly, because this event will be sold out as we cannot exceed the number of guests that will be allowed according to the San Diego Fire Department Guidelines.
