FROM FR. BOB – NEXT WEEK WE WILL HAVE TWO COMMUNITY MASSES, ONE ON WEDNESDAY AND ONE ON FRIDAY. BOTH ARE AT 7:45AM. On Wednesday we will have the Jerry Downey Memorial Mass, with the presence of his wife, Mary, and family members and friends. Our presider will be Fr. John Keller. On Friday we will have a special Mass for the Augustinian Values Institute (AVI). Augustinians and others connected with our schools from all over will be here. The presider will be Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, the Prior Provincial of Villanova Province. A warm welcome to all who will be with us to celebrate!

REMINDER SAINTSMEN: WHO WANTS TO GO TO EUROPE? 2017 will have two different trips sponsored by Mr. Linville. Next year’s intersession trip is a go and there are already four students signed up. If you are interested in traveling during Intersession, please see Mr. Linville. Then, in the summer, at the beginning of July, both Saints and OLP will be going to Italy for the 2017 Global Leadership Summit. You’ll get to see all of the sites and learn lessons about food sustainability and how food effects culture, politics, and global commerce. For information on either trip, please see Mr. Linville ASAP.

REMINDER: DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOOD AT NBA 2K? WELL NOW YOU CAN FIND OUT! The Cancer Awareness Club will be commencing its First annual NBA 2k tournament. The deadline to sign up, with a $5 entry fee, is TODAY, Friday, February 12. All proceeds will go to Rady Children’s to help kids who are fighting cancer and blood disorders.

REMINDER: THE INTERACT CLUB IS COLLECTING JEANS FOR HOMELESS TEENS. Please bring them by Room 322 Ms. MacVay’s classroom by Friday 2-19. We have a competition with OLP to see which Interact Club brings in more jeans…let’s find our competitive spirit and help homeless teens!

REMINDER: ATTENTION SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Applications are now available in the Campus Ministry office for our Alternative Spring Break. This year we will be going to San Francisco. This is a great opportunity to fulfill your service commitment, visit colleges, and have fun with your fellow Saintsmen. Cost is $375 and space is limited to 14 participants. Please see Fr. REMINDER: IT IS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR OF AGAIN FOR YOU TO JOIN YOUR FELLOW CLASSMATES FOR ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE A MEMORABLE EVENT. Yes, we are talking about the upcoming boat dance on the William D. Evans that will take place on Friday, March 18, 2016, which is the same day of the Junior Mass. You will be in the partying mode all day and can take that same partying mode into the night. Your bid will include parking, a three hour cruise around the bay, dinner, dessert, all you can drink beverages, dancing, photos from a real life photo booth, and of course interacting and meeting the students in the junior class from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace. This dance is always sold out, so get ready to buy your bids which will be available on line in a few weeks. For additional information, talk to your junior class representatives.

REMINDER: THE THIRD ANNUAL OLP SAINTS BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT IS ON FEBRUARY 15TH IN SOUTH MISSION BEACH! All level grades are welcome. Registration forms are in the Student Services office. Registration is first come, first serve for the first 20 players.

Yesterday Captain Michael Ingraham’s 911 team narrowly vanquished Captain Gabriel Camou’s Alpha Sigma team 22 to 18.

Captain Marco Nuanez’s Dream Team crushed Captain Matt Beddow’s Pine Cones 20 to zero.
