Art Club Led by Moderator Carol Harlow, the Art Club explores the Saints experience through student-driven artistic expressions. Its members meet in Room 9 from 2PM to 3:30PM on Monday through Thursday. We strongly encourage those with any interest in developing artistically while providing invaluable contribution to our school community to attend. In September, the Art Club begins developing props and various thematic materials for our annual Homecoming game and dance in October. We also design, build, and paint the sets for the Fall Drama production, which is performed by the very talented Saints Players. The Club also shares their talents with various San Diego community organizations. For example, the club painted murals for Children's Hospital. This year, the art club is involved in painting portraits of the children at Hogar de Infantil an orphanage in Tijuana. These portraits will be gifts to the children. Following our Fall activities and the subsequent Christmas vacation, the Art Club designs and completes the sets for the Spring Drama Production, the second of two plays held by the Saints Players. The club also continues to contribute to the Saints community with any on-going projects. The Art Club also rewards those Saintsmen most devoted to the arts through membership in the National Art Honor Society. Requirements include at least two semesters of art- while maintaining a 3.5 GPA in those classes- as well as several years of experience, dedication, and high level of attendance in the Art Club.
