Mr. Ralph’s West. Civ. Paper
Date Assigned: December 1st
Date Due: January 7th

Topic: Any topic in 1st 4 Units of Text book. Pick a topic that is not too broad.
For instance if your topic is Egypt, it may be too broad. Narrow it down to a more specific topic that you can research in depth.
Egypt sub topics:
DYNASTIES OF EGYPT:
o The Old Kingdom
o The Middle Kingdom
o The New Kingdom
o The Late Post dynastic Periods
• EVERYDAY LIFE IN ANCIENT EGYPT
o Upper-Class Home life and Dress
o Peasants and Craftsmen
• RELIGION AND CULTURE
o The Story of Ra and Osiris
o Other Gods and Sacred Animals
o Architecture of the Temples
o Painting and Sculpture
o Three Ways of Writing
o The Literature of Ancient Egypt
You may even narrow it down further to a specific ruler or pyramid etc.
FORMAT:
I. TITLE: The paper must have a title. The title should be stated on the title page along with the class information (such as the subject, the teacher's name, the student's name, and the date).
II. PAGE SETUP: The paper must be typed and double-spaced. The margins should be 1 inch on the top and bottom and 1.25 inches on each side. If using a word processor or computer, the font should be 12 point.
III. LENGTH: The paper must be a minimum of 4 to 6 pages (not including title page, pictures, or appendices). Each page should be approximately 250-300 words in length.
VISUAL COMPONENT OR STORY BOARD
must not exceed 11 x 14 inches and must be well done.

60 points - Research and Data
10 points - Source Citations
15 points - Writing Skill/Grammar/Spelling
15 points - Visual Component
